We care what you eat – do you?
You are what you eat, it is important
Some questions that you should ask yourself about your food
There are many factors which affect our choice of foods these days. Everyone is different, so we are concerned about the factors which are important to YOU.
Here are some questions to ponder when considering your food shopping:
Are you concerned about food miles? With the global economy and the buying power of major supermarkets, food that can be grown locally is often sourced worldwide and flown around the globe then driven between distribution points in the UK before you buy it at supermarkets. It may save a few pence, particularly if the producer can be squeezed out of a good days pay, but is it good for the environment or for world poverty & justice. If this is a factor which is important to you then it may help to know that our meat is produced here on this farm. Our fruit and vegetables are always sourced as locally as possible with food miles, and freshness, being of importance to us.
Are you concerned that the meat is produced naturally? Is animal welfare a concern? All of our animals are reared on a good, natural diet and have space to roam. We feed no additives and do not falsely enhance your food. Our sausages and burgers are made with good ingredients and we would be pleased to show you our process.
Do you know what you are having for dinner? Do you really know what is in it? Many products on offer at supermarkets have so many additives, flavour enhancers, so much salt, sugar and fat content that sometimes it is hard to know what you are eating. With good meat and fresh produce you will find that you can eat healthier, more satisfying, tastier meals at a much lower price. And it need not take all of your spare time to prepare, just ask for some ideas and try a meal with good ingredients – go on, take the taste challenge today!
